Roberto Cipresso

"The secret of emotional wines is kept in the enchantment between viticulture at the limit, the author’s ability to interpret and the enology applied to it"

Roberto Cipresso, originally from Bassano del Grappa (Veneto - Italy), began his career as a winemaker in 1987 in Montalcino.
In 1992 he created his small farm "Fattoria La Fiorita" in the heart of Montalcino. In 1999 he founded Winemaking, the group of wine consultancy and professional training for technicians of the vineyard and cellar. In the same year he started several consulting projects in Veneto, Friuli, Piedmont and Campania, but the most evident success came from a difficult but fascinating work in Mendoza in Argentina: Malbec "Altamira" Bodega Achaval - Ferrer, which in 2009 was proclaimed "best winery in the world" by Wine&Spirits.
In 2006 he was nominated best Italian winemaker, during the event "Oscar del Vino".
He published numerous books including "Il romanzo del vino" (2006), "Vinosofia" (2008), "Vineide" (2009) and "Vino. Il romanzo segreto (2018). While in 2020 comes out the podcast "Divine" made with Federico Buffa.
In 2019, one of the tallest vineyards in the world was planted in Cusco, Peru.
In 2015 he had his first contacts with Cervim and heroic viticulture, participating in a Round Table entitled: "Between innovation and tradition: research for the development of heroic viticulture", with the intervention entitled: "Viticulture to the limit: from originality to authoritativeness".
From there every year he takes part in the tastings of the Mondial des Vins Extrêmes, the international competition dedicated to wines produced by heroic viticulture.
